The Best HID/FOG/WEDGE Setup? See Pics
Okay I finally aced the stocked OEM HID's and purchased the Philips 6K bulbs. See for yourself, they are a HUGE improvement over what Lexus claims to be HID's.
Wow what a difference!
The Sylvania SilverStar's look much more yellow now - ouch!
Rominl (left) + my GS4 (right) - Rominl converted to HID, where mine is fatory. Rominl also has Polarg M4's where mine are M6's.
OEM 4K Bulbs
Is this the closest "HID-looking" bulb setup for the GS w/o HID fogs and centers? The Sylvanias look poor next to the 6k's even though many claim them to be the closest match to HID.

does the blue color last.....or when the bulb is hot does it dissappear?
Did you just replace the bulbs or the ballasts as well?
What did this cost?
Thanks for the info. Looks good.

This is the color they are all of the time - they are actually more bluish-purple when you turn them on initially.

I already had the stock HID ballasts, I simply installed new Philips 6K bulbs.
What did this cost?
$250 and very well worth it!

brendan, the 6000K can compare to the Audi lights, but if you notice with projector lights they seem to change color depending on the angle your looing at them.. With the reflective housing they really don't change color they just stay the same.. But as far as the total color they give off yes they compare... I'd say go with the 6000K you won't be disappointed.. And if for some reason you are just send them my way...

Those 8K bulbs look like a ticket waiting to happen. A bit too blue IMO, I also heard that they aren't as bright as the 6K's??
I will post the email of the guy that can get you the 6K's for $250. He is the largest Philips distributor in Taiwan...
