what brand h3 3000k light output do you have? mine came out green so i returned them
so im looking for 3000k h3 hids and mine from ebay came out looking like garbage. im looking for a better quality light output but mainly the color temperature is the main deciding factor for me. I also dont want to spend a fortune. care to chime in fellows?
heres my actual output with the xentec kit
what i really want
or
what i DO NOT WANT
so can you guys advise of your brands with pics ? i know the wattage output from actual cars can affect the output but ... carry on! thanks guys

Nope, not really. HID ballasts work like transformers, so that means, the wattage/voltage/amperage, all of that, come out to the bulbs the same no matter what wattage/voltage/amperage go through the ballasts. The thing that makes a big difference is the casing/shape/projector of the light casing it comes out of. That's why you'd see some people retrofitting it with projectors or tinting it yellow. The bulbs are filled with a certain amount of xenon gas that determines the color of light that illuminates once electric current goes through the bulb. Though the amount of xenon would vary if you buy a cheaply made or high quality HID kit, it's still too minor to make a big difference, the biggest factor still is the light casing.
If you're aiming for the same output as that GS/Aristo you posted, either retrofit yellow projectors or tint the casing yellow. Or the old school way was using what they call a bulb "condom".
thanks for the insight sir but i thought ballasts only act as capacitors rather than transformers? or maybe higher quality ballasts transform? either way ive seen some 3000k hids that emit yellow light but they werent h3's. are there no hid setups that naturally produce these results without modification?
They're not really transformers, but the way it function is similar, basically regulates the current that go in the system. Anyways, the best yellow light I've seen are the halogen pure yellow types. The tips are painted/frosted yellow. It really emits yellow light, but totally useless. I mean you don't really see well with those. Best bet and cheap route would be the condom type I mentioned.

BINGO! I've had a set of 'super duper yellow lights' from China. And they looked very yellow.
But useless as f***. ZERO output, well no, not really. But a foot & half in front of the bumper isn't sufficient. I ended up going back to regular bulbs that came with my ES300. Had an HID kit, and it bubbled the chrome in the housing.
Capsules with OEM bulb on an ES300; *same goes for the Aristos [1st gen.] super yellow and its capsules...
im taking king's advice. i just didnt want to ruin my 97 fogs with a retrofit so............... im ruining other fogs with a retrofit lol. thanks for the input guys/king!
ohhhhh no im taking his advice and going with es300 fogs. you can use those condom style caps but who wants to risk that on a 97 fog set. that wouldnt be sexy.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo im in the process of trimming intrepid fogs. gonna retrofit es300 lights into them then hid them. tthennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn to retrofit high beams
I got the H3 condoms from some dude locally. I think he gets them from a factory Toyota/Lexus yellow fog and strips the condom out, then flip them at like $30. Retrofit was pretty easy, I pretty much just took out what was in the fog out then shoved the condom in.
