Clear marker in headlight cluster
I'm shipping an 05 RAV4 overseas and to register the vehicle the orange marker lights built into the headlight assembly need to be clear. Does anyone know if the orange part comes out or if the whole lens/assembly needs to be changed? If it needs to be changed where can one get such a thing? I'm told the conversion can be done at the destination for $450 - I'm trying to find out if a cheaper DIY solution might be available stateside.

you could bake them, and open them up, and remove the amber part if the assembly allows. I haven't seen the the rav4 assembly up close.
But why do you need to change them? I've imported cars to Riyadh many times, and never had an issue with amber marker lights. I know Saudi usually follows European regulations as opposed to the U.S.' DOT on new cars, but never had an issue with imported cars.
