either way is fine, i have afs and it just shows as much when you are turning. the afs turns fast enough to show you what you need to see

About the projector, well what can i say stanely/kioto came through yet again. The projector is nothing short of a marvel itself. Compared to the LS430 projector the bottom bowl is more sophisticated and instead of being smooth it has angled surfaces to direct light towards the sides better. The shield that allows the light to pass through to the bottom has multiple holes rather than just one found in the LS430 projector.

The cut off shield is fixed compared the the one found in the LS430. There is a top shield almost identical to the one found in the LS430. The Lens has a textured ring around it exactly like the one found in the S2000, its not clear and is foggy like the one found in the SC430. Lens is around 3 inchs in diameter as the comparison pictures with the ZKW projector will show. I will do a swap later on with the ZKW lens to see what sort of difference does that make.

The bowl is mirror chrome apart from the top half of it which the pictures show has a texture to it.

The entire projector is covered up by a plastic bezel which itself makes it look beautiful, sort of the same found in the M45 projectors.

I dont have a battery pack to test them out right now but will be posting output pictures in the future.

and now the pictures.

By the way dont mind the dust on the bowl.. I havent cleaned the projector yet or before taking the pictures.

The comparison pictures show the size of the projector. Although it isn’t small but the projector is smaller in size compared to the LS 430.

I know a lot of you would be disappointed since I don’t I have the output shots but rest assured once I get the other projector out of the housing I will post pictures of both of them along with the output shots.

Here is comparison shots between the LS430, LS460 and S2k

I'll break down the original post down..

On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is best with both intensity and width. I would rate LS430s at 10, S2ks at 8 (only missing out on width) and LS460s at 7.5. The bottom reflector bowl actually doesnt throw light out to the side alone, it takes the light and fills up the spots where the projector lacks intensity..

I have shown one picture where the projector is covered and you can only see the output of the reflector bowl and notice how it throws light all around unlike the LS430s which only throws light towards onside to increase width. LS460s are S2k wide not LS430 wide but they have great intensity. Also, ZKW is a drop in but the focal length is less than the OEM LS460 lens. I also tried the clear 3"~ lens that i got from zam and it not only is it too big for the LS460 but also lacks the focal length, So for now there is no clear lens drop in that would work for this projector. Lets just say that what ever works for the Prosche Bi-xenons the same lens would work for LS460 since they both have almost the same focal length.

Which one would I pick? For looks i'll pick LS460, the thing looks amazing once its running almost like a jewel in the headlight. For performance LS430 and S2k .

The three lenses in question, from left to right, first one is the ZKW clear lens, 2nd one is the OEM LS 460 lens and lastly it’s the clear lens from zam2000.

ZKW

LS 460 lens, notice the roughed surface around the outer edge of the lens reminiscent of the S2k lens.

Clear 3” lens from Zam.

ZKW yet again.

All projectors rested at the same spot pointing the same direction. I used an old 85122 bulb which i modified to fit the LS460 since it takes D4s bulb. This way it would be easy to judge the intensity in a comparitive sense of each projector.

LS460

This is the right hand side projector, LS460 projectors are side specific as well just like the LS430.

Light towards the right, notice the spread.

The LS460 has ECE cut off

Light towards the left, not bad.

The following couple of pictures show the output of LS460 projector with the projector lens covered. This is light that comes out of the bottom reflector bowl, notice that its not just thrown to one side like the LS430. The bowl throws patchs of light at different spots to increase the intensity of the overall beam.

Bringing this thread back. H'bout a lense upgrade on the LS460? How will it compare? What if I remove the eyelids inside the projector, will that do anything? and, last but may not be least, how about a 55 watt bulb?

That should put the good look + be on par with the 35watt ls430...right?

noob to this topic.
