Talking Need Your Vote on Clear Or Amber-Wise Tails

Had some bulbs left over from when we had my wifies 330i.
Curious to see what most of us would prefer as far as clear or amber turn signal bulbs for the Wise/JP/Quest/Carson Tails.
Used Solaris bulbs for the turn signals. White/Clear on the left, 9LED 194 wedge bulbs for the reverse in the center and Amber on the right. You can kinda see a blue tinge on the bulb on the left and amber tinge on the right in the pic. The Solaris bulbs have a mirror finish so you don't see any color through the clear lens on the tails.

This is what the reverse lights look like.

These are good pics to compare clear or amber turn signals. Kinda blurry but you get the point.

This is finally what I chose to go with. Matches the 9LED 194 wedge bulbs that I use for my reverse lights.

I think in Virginia turn signals have to be amber. You can't pass inspection with clear and you can get a ticket if a cop is bored or doesn't like the way you look.

Good suggestion, check your state laws. Guys running neons in Alaska have to have red on the rear, amber on the sides and almost any color up front except red. While parked or showing a car it doesn't matter, but on the road the above is the law. I wouldn't doubt it a bit if we have a law stating amber or red for rear signals.

they should be amber when light up. white turn signals don't look right and are asking for trouble.

Use the silver bulbs that emit amber when in use, it looks clean. Clear turn signals remind me to much of riced out Hondas, but it comes down to what you like.

I hear you Henry, might be switching back to amber soon. Nice to have options though. I feel I have the best of both worlds right now.
Btw, Love the new sig Henry! Thanks to those who have participated to my poll. Right now, the majority like the amber bulbs.

Agreed. I occasionally see the clear blinkers on cars and it looks like a mistake (or a punk 17 year old kid).

California vehicle code:

3) Any incidental visible light projecting to the rear of the vehicle shall be predominantly red. Any incidental visible light from an illuminating device, as permitted under Section 24255, shall not resemble any other required or permitted lighting device or official traffic control device.

(b) The emitted light from all lamps and the reflected light from all reflectors, visible from the rear of a vehicle, shall be red except as follows:

(1) Stoplamps on vehicles manufactured before January 1, 1979, may show yellow to the rear.

(2) Turn signal lamps may show yellow to the rear.

Cops WILL mess with you for the clear blinkers.

I would say amber.. but I would go with LEDs to match the LEDs of the red brake and running lights

or maybe something different and go with red signals
