Default HID Conversion kit? Purple looking at the bulb, white on the ground which kit?

Exactly what the title says I have a 98 Gs300 and am about to buy a Hid plug and play kit for it mine did not come with HID. I want the Purple looking at the bulb, white on the ground set and dont know if thats like a 4000k or 12000k kit and if there is anything I am not understanding. Any help would be appreciated I am trying to order it by the weekend. Thanks

Si2See, purple will be around 8k-9k, unless you want to go higher..

I doubt you'll get white on the ground though. More likely you'll get a blue-ish color.

And I hope you're retrofitting projectors otherwise do us a favor and not get an HID kit at all.........

The glare with the halogen reflector is pretty bad, even though you may not think so. It blinds on-coming drivers and you may get fined for that.

It's either 6000K or 6500K that you're looking for. 6000K has a very slight tint of purple and 6500K even more so...both emit white light on the ground.

if it's much brighter, then it has to be lower, maybe 4300k or 6000k. the higher you go the dimmer it is....

and yeah, i agree, 6000k kits is probably what you are looking for

Thanks for everyones help. I saw pictures off all of them online and although the pictures are probably way off it looked like you only got that purple look with 1200k and I dont want that I want a basic kit. So it looks like I should be looking for a 6000-6500k kit.

with 12000k hid kits, you might as well bring a flash light with you to help light up the road

I cant believe people buy a 12000k kit, I think even Halogen would be much brighter. I wouldnt go above 6000k. I have the 4300K on my retro but with the Valeo lens and dot shield I have a very nice spectrum in the cutoff

Purple looking at the bulb, white on the ground? I believe you are wanting the look that can only be achieved with HID projectors. Like the look of a BMW behind you with the blue/purple colored flicker.

A purple colored bulb will just be purple on the ground and also when you look at it. It will not give you the Purple look (straight on) and white on ground. From what I have seen so far.....the purple color bulbs are around 8000k.

I really like the 6500k kit on our sponsors site xenondepot. That should be brighter than stock by far even if it isnt retrofit correct?

I would highly recomend 6500K. Sunlight is about 6300K so it does not reduce much visibility at all from 6000K and is the most purple out of all the units I've seen.
