I'm posting this here for the SC430 owners and HID enthusiasts alike. Remember people, the optics/prism effect caused by the purplish colors above the line is what causes the violet color effect when you see a car with HID projector drive at you. NOT the 6000K/7000K/1million K bulbs you see for sale on these web sites. They're misleading. Don't buy into the crap advertising. This car below ( Mitsu galant these will be installed into) with standard 4300K xenon Philips bulb will outshine your car if you're using the above mentioned colors AND have more blue/purple than you. Its just the way it is

That's the SC430 for ya! I bet those guys in that section didnt even know the capabilities of their own HIDS! Whomever is bold enough to open their lamps can have this done. All they need are some cuttoff shields from the TSX headlamp. I just bought a pair of TSX projectors for 200 off Ebay I'll be using for my setup since Henry was out of stock.

You're right Rominl. All you need are those plates. I think a few people on HIDplanet may have some for sale. Henry (my supplier in Chicago) normally has some but I know he's still out of stock on the TSXs. They're very hot now along with the Valeo Brand Audi projector.
These will totoally kill whatever the 2006 SC output is. They keep using the same projectors without modification. I guess Toyota/Lexus is trying to please all the elderly drivers who don't care about the colors in the cuttoff or flickering/blinging action when the SC hits bumps hehe

Sweet!! We have a 2006 TSX.. I am going to check it out to get an idea of what I am up against.
My HID's are flickering and sometimes turn off.. When start my car and turn on the lights, its on for a few moments and they flicker, and then the driver side turns off. I toggle the switch off and on, and they fire right back up, but few moments later its off again. After about 10 minutes of doing that, they usually stay on, but once I make a quick stop and turn off the headlights, the issue starts again and I usually cant get them to stay on after that unless I park the car for a few hours, and go through the 10 mins of screwing around with them again.
I really need to fix this, along with my front parking lights in the bumper and the rear side bumper lights as well. I also have to take care of my license plate lights, which the harness does not even seem to be there behind the left lens, and the right one is missing.
I want to fix them, but if I take apart the fixtures, I want to polish the inside of the lens. and do any other mods at that time. I want to stick with the HID's, but maybe get some different bulbs for the low beam, that funky yellowish light that runs during the day, and the fog lights. I am not going to mess around with the LED's for a while. I had halogens in my last car that I had to update to HID to get good light, and these SC lights are even better since they are auto leveling, and turn with the car for the most part as well.
