Question How to Change Non-HID GS300 to HID using OEM headlights

Hi All,
I have a 2000 GS300. I believe 2000 models were before HID was an option on GS300's, so I am wondering if I purchase a set of OEM headlights, and ballasts from Ebay off of a damaged GS430, if the new lights will fit.

From reading previous posting, it seems that it would work, but the auto leveling will not work. My questions are as follows:

1. Will a set of OEM HID headlights from a 2002 GS430 fit on my 2000 GS300?
2. If they will fit, I understand that the bumper must be removed, is this correct?
3. Is there any way for someone that has doe this to explain how I should go about doing the retrofit by explaining wiring, etc.?

Thanks in advance...I am wondering if I should go ahead and buy the HID OEM set of lights, but would like to know the steps involved so I can understand how complicated it will be.

1. Yes
2. Yes. Although there are members who have been able to do this without removing the bumper, it takes some bending and maneuvering. Removing the bumper is optimal.
3. Look at the following threads for some wiring help:

Good luck.

You can use OEM HID lamps on that GS of yours. Only thing is you're definantly going to need a wire harness to connect your new HID lamps to your 9006 halogen (factory GS halogen) lights.
Autolevel won't function unless you add the 3000 computer system that comes with it (not worth it IMO) since you still have same aiming screws as the ones that are on there now.

Another option you have is to retrofit xenon projectors into there in which I can assist you. Search for some of my previous GS retrofits and if you see something you like you may end up getting it cheaper retrofit.
