help with the accent lights in the high beam housings...
#1
hey guys. i have matrix 5 led lights up front instead of the stock 194s. my quesiton is this. i have the hid kit from zenon depot, its 4300k and no matter what cheap **** or expensive bulb i try, or led, they all are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too blue, or purple or any other color other then what i want which is WHITE. NOT SUPA WHITE, NOT EXTRA CRAZY BLUE WHITE BANANZA NOT THESE SAY THEYRE WHITE BUT LOOK SMURF BLUE, etc. etc...im tired of buying and trying these things out and never bein able to just get some nice pure white ones that light up the housing white so i dont look like ricer jr. driving down the freaking avenue with my bright blue lights on my lexus. please help me out, it seems theres mixed opinions on all these lights some said raybrig, some said m6 or m4. like i said i just want it to be a nice white with absolutely NO hint of blue or purple or anything. its getting frustrating trying to even bother and i just want a bulb that looks classy. im also wondering if anyone knows of any of them that would give me this white light but with that silver or chrome or clear look to them instead of the blue. ive seen the coated bulbs around but usually theyre actually for the orange turn signals...HELP! please?!

Upstate,
Please no cross-posting. I split your other post off of the 'sticky' so people would notice it.
This forum gets lots of flow from those who know lighting

Part of the problem is the 4300 bulbs are on the yellow side so anything next to it will look different.
If you want white, you might want to look into upgrading your HID bulbs to 6000k. I have Polarg M4s in my 2GS highbeam side of the housing and a 6000k HID kit in my lows. The M4s may not be as bright as some other LEDs, but they match pretty well.
Here are the Polargs alone:
Here is the Polarg and Headlight:

I would not say they are the whitest out there. There is actually a slight trace of blue which matches well with the 6000k.
Here is a pic of 4300k (OEM) vs 6000k.
The OEM looks white until you compare it to the 6000k which I think is whiter (but with a slight hint of blue). In this pic, the OEM looks yellow to me, not bright yellow but yellowish nonetheless.
The M4 bulb is coated blue but I never saw my reflector look blue. I have seen the M6 in the housing and they look blue.

M4 on left vs M6 (brighter but more than OEM wattage) on right:
The other thing to keep in mind is that the car on the left (with the M4) has an aftermarket 6000k kit while the one on the right is the OEM HIDs with 6000k bulbs.
You are right that the 4300 will produce more light than the 6000k. I think it is about 400 lumens difference but for people who have made the switch, they claim they don't see a difference. Some have liked the 6000k more since the output is whiter. Once you get into the 7000 - 12000k, then you start to lose more and more output. I went from halogen to 6000k so I cannot comment on the OEM vs 6000k difference but the 6000k was brighter than halogens.
As for buying, you can try XenonDepot or eBay. There is also a very trustworthy member selling his bulbs:
