Default has anyone used a different bulb for there hid?

hi, has anyone used a different bulb color K's for their stock Ballast? like a different brand bulb / kelvin from cheaper bulbs?

Are you asking about the different color temperature or a cheaper bulb? Not to speak for everyone here but I think both are pretty commonly done. Factory HIDs are ~4100K in color, but many opt to go for 6000K, 8000K or 10000K.

i have 6000k on my gs4, and had them on my is3

I finally installed 6000k bulbs into my GS4. I couldn't imagine going anything higher than 6000k since the road looks so violet with these bulbs.

these bulbs are new? if so, after they are broken in, they won't look as violet. still bluer than the stock but more white i guess

Yes, they're brand new. I finally had the courage to go back to battle with that silver cap. Well they look great, but I hope they'll break in and become a bit less violet and more white. But isn't it the other way around? The more hours an HID bulb is in use, the more blue/violet it becomes?

i think during the break in period the bulbs appear to be bluer? that seems to be my experience. dunno, i like my 6000k though, i don't have issues with the light on the gnd

ok so stock OEM ballast can use higher kelvin bulbs from other brands?

yeah, 6000k is no problem for sure, some people put on 8000k and it's still good

Default 12k HIDs

I have 12,000 and they look very bluish pruple, not as bright on the road but looks very good and modern.
