2004 ES330 HID Lights.
I purchased a new 2004 ES 330 one of the last demos at the dealership. The car has HID lighting, but I have a question. The low beams are shining a brilliant white light. when I through on the high beams I get the regular yellowish Halogen High beam mixed in with the brillant white low beams. Is this normal? The low beam lights have the reflector type bulb but the high beams look like a standard halogen bulb? Did the deal strip off the high beams and replaced the bubls with cheaper halogens for the high beams? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Separated high beam setups are usually halogen setups. This is because in order to high beam someone, you need to flash the light instantly. High intensity light needs to warm up. Constant flickering will burn it out quickly. There are certain exceptions out there (bixenons for one).

Thanks for the info
Thanks for the info! Do you have any suggestions for a replacement bulb for the high beams since the factory high beams are pretty dull?

If you are really looking for a replacement, I would go with silverstars ($25 a bulb) or just stock ones. Just avoid those > 75W ones. They will melt your wires should there be a power surge. It shouldn't matter much because you don't use high beams that often anyways.
