Default rx300 stock HID system

Just curious if anyone has bought an aftermarket hid headlight assembly before? I just ordered from http://www.discount-auto-parts-store...--L100104.html
It cost me $275 for each side. I contacted the seller and they said the hid system is the same as the OEM system which they said was hella. If the assemblies are of good quality this may be an option for rx300 owners, instead of buying just the aftermarket hid system itself. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance

so what are you getting? the whole headlight assembly with hid bulb, how about ballasts, relays, and the wiring? it's going to be direct plug and play to the stock system? if so that's kinda low price for the whole thing, considering that a set of hid kits is about 450 bucks.

and the most important question, what kind of housing are they using, the stock d2r housing or the halogen housing? if it's the d2r housing then it's good, but you won't get the autoleveling function. if it's from the normal halogen housing then you don't really gain anything coz' the light output and pattern would be the same just like getting the hid kits

Yea its the whole assembly wiring harness, ballast , computer as well. Its suppose to be a direct fit, I would have to splice wires to power the ballast but it should be like buying a headlight assembly from the dealer. The price is very low and that's why i was wondering if anyone else went this route. The housing is d2r, i could have gone with just the hid system in my halogen housing but i dont think that the beam has the same cutoff and there is too much glare. I had the catz hid system on my 240 ( it had projectors) and the pattern sucked with a large amount of glare. I plan on selling my halogen housings if the the new ones are good, so that way i can make some money back,
I will let you know how these aftermarket housings work out and post some pics.

definitely keep us posted, coz' as far as i know a full assembly from dealership (housing, bulbs, ballasts, computer) cost about 1500 each, so that's 3k a set. the price you got is way low. but no matter what though, the autoleveling would still not work, but that's not biggie

If that's a true replacement for an OEM HID headlamp that is one kick-butt deal.

seitz,

I ordered it and they sent me the halogen assemblies, I sent it back they told me that they didnt have the hid assembly and refunded my money. So the deal was basically too good to be true. I found a used hid assembly (pair) on ebay for like $350, so it worked even better money wise.
