Default Goodwood Festival 2014: Lexus LFA does a timed hill climb

For the record, despite struggling for traction at lower speeds, LFA managed to do the hill climb in the same time McLaren P1 was able to with pro driver Jenson Button. Cannot imagine how it would have been, if LFA had proper racing compound tires.

Lexus LFA time attack lap time compared to the contemporary super car time attacks on the same day with pro race car drivers.

Amazing to see a 10 year old Lexus LFA still outperforming (despite having traction issues in the first half) at the track the top newer exotic super cars on racing slick tires.

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series 0:55.01
Jaguar F-Type R Coupe 0:55.10

Wicked.. that guy was on it!

LFA one of my all time favorite and one of the best ever made. I really hope there will be a True successor to the LFA.

Regarding the P1 on the uphill run - I don't think Jensen was trying very hard and am sure it would have blistered the time sheets. I wouldn't want to be the one to smack a 1.2 million dollar supercar.

Have you guys seen the GTR crash ?

Yeah, it was disqualified. The infamous heavy understeer FTL!

Sir Chris Hoy (not a rookie by any means. He knows this track inside and out and has done time attacks many times). He went into the corner hot and fast and could not negotiate the left-hander turn. The front wheels fully locked left and the ploughed into the haystack.

Rolla, if you think those front wheels were fully locked left I have a bridge to sell you.

That boob was just going to fast and made a mess of a car most of us would be thrilled to own.

It might not be a full lock, but it was a sweeping left hander. He might have went in really fast, but Sir Chris Hoy is a veteran and professional of many years who knows this track inside out.

It was the only car that crashed the whole day. The car flat out refused to change direction.

He over estimated car's ability to correct understeer and went into too fast. The front end refused to turn and ploughed into the haystack.
