Owner comparing his Porsche 911 Turbo S with his Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition

straight line speed its not as crazy as porsche since the turbo has 650horses, but when the LFA is reved up, its an insane but still controllable beast. around the corners the LFA is the BEST car I have EVER DRIVEN. front wheels had a lot more grip than the turbo cuz in the turbo i always have to concentrate on using the brakes to shift the weight a little but in the LFA i could feel the weight was right in the middle of the car.

That's not a Turbo S. Those came with the newer LED style taillights and these are the older non-LED lights that came on the standard Turbo.

Maybe because there are only around 170 LFA's in America.

What are the chances that one of those LFA's will be racing around the track that you are at, at the same time?

Actually fairly high.
lots of wealthy guys that love to drive. and there were 2 lfa's for sale at my local dealership... this is a good market for exotics.

I'm also a HPDE instructor for NASA, PBOC, PCA, BMWCCA, CHIN, HOD, & FARA.

but I hardly ever see lambo's or veryons either. -We did have a veryon at an autox once..
DB9's, vanquish's, and R8' & R10's, CGTs F550.... all the time.

any owners in So Fla?

Thanks Gengar.

that looks like a private factory day for special customers... -not unlike what PCNA does ... (HPDE / parade laps w/ classroom instruction ). -which is Great btw. (did everyone get a instructor in the right seat?)

I saw some video of scott pruett doing hot laps/rides at homestead. but I never saw him actually push the car...to its limits.

I have been looking for video and lap times, at some of the more popular tracks.

I understand a lot of owners aren't going to be setting any lap records, or even do a lot of track events, but figured some % would be track junkies...ie., some members would be members of private tracks like motorsports ranch, PBIR, etc...

Does anyone have video or lap times at some popular tracks like VIR, Watkins Glen, laguna seca, sebring? (ie., road courses, not rovals.)

TIA

Yeah, you would not find many private owners of LFA in US doing hotlaps except Roy Mallady in Atlanta, Georgia who has a professional driver named Shareef Abdelbassett who regularly does hotlaps of LFA at road Atlanta.

Anyway, some laptimes by magazines

Laguna Seca: 1:36 (2011)
Virginia Raceway: 2:55 (not pushed hard by the magazine because Roy lent his car)
El Torro: 1:22.6 (Top Gear USA)
Infineon (Sears point): 1:44 (Top Gear USA)

I'm guessing those times are with street tires. sure is quick to redline. -like a bike.... or F1 ride.

in this video, the driver seems to have trouble putting the power down.

also found a ring lap ... but hard to get a feel of handling at those speeds.

OTOH, properly prepped it seems to measure up to some of the best. (ring records)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...eife_lap_times

10 sec faster than the GT-R or the GT2
