I believe Clarkson used launch control several times during the filming of the episode (the stop light drag race and in the storm drainage launch against the Viper SRT-10, you can see the word 'launch' appear in the gauge cluster).
Even at the Vegas speedway, Clarkson claims LFA was putting down the fastest times compared to the Viper SRT-10 and Vanquish so he must have used the launch control atleast once or twice to get off the line fast at the Vegas speedway.
For whatever reason, Lexus has always forbidden people from using launch control on #032 saying it does not have one. I am not sure why, but that is what Motor Trend and Insideline had said when they got the #032.

The number is 355, from what I remember(according to lexusenthusiast.com).
Lexus USA seems lot more liberal with the P014 because it is a prototype while they have some long-term plan with the #032.
On a side note, the blue European LFA #016 has had launch control used so Lexus EU and Lexus USA don't necessarily see eye-to-eye on its usage.

I'm going to assume the yellow car was P014 - I've found P014 has a particularly annoying driver's side seat belt that for some reason is hard to connect, far more so than any of the production ones I've tried (Lexus' #32 or #144 or my own #47). The production seatbelts are still more cumbersome than "typical" seat belts because of the air bag, but I've never found them difficult to use really.

Lexus USA has several LFAs in their fleet while UK only has one. I remember when LFA P014 was brand new and discovered the plate badge on the back:

That might explain the launch control system – holds the engine at 4000rpm and automatically deploys the clutch (good for 255 starts Lexus says).
