can't really make out of it. 1 owner car with 45 miles and all the plastic, so the owner paid all those sales tax for pretty much nothing?

This is quickly becoming the automotive equivalent of Where's Waldo.

My (worthless) guess here is the owner put down the $60K and then either didn't want or couldn't afford the car when it arrived.

When faced with losing the $60K, the owner took delivery (may have been forced to register the car as I recall one of the commitments mentioned to me by Lexus was an agreement to register it in the US, so the dealer may not have allowed the car out the door without registration) and had it delivered (on a second truck) to this place (where it is looking good next to the Roller).

so you are saying maybe by doing this he hopes to lose only the tax and registration, about 30-40k, instead of the original 60k deposit huh

That would be my guess.

The only goofier thing is watching these "receipient dealers" market the cars for above sticker.

The ding dong at Lexus of Kendall offering the deceased dealership owner's unit for $475K takes the cake so far. They emailed me this week to see what it would take to bring me back. I replied a discount from list would be a start and haven't heard back.

yup, i find that pretty interesting too, how these cars would end up selling for. the other lfa listing for 419 at ferrari dealership, can't understand how it's possible either, considering there are bunch of lfa new listed for msrp and then some still to be built.

pretty funny lexus of kendall can't sell the car for so long and came back to you.

Auto dealers must have some genetic thing about poisoning their markets (New Ford Thunderbird a good recent example). Same in the RE game, price the place too high initially and folks avoid it when the price drops, perceiving something is wrong with the place.

The only advantage I can see from going to a non Lexus dealer for an LFA is the option of putting together financing in the open market. The Lexus dealers are stuck with the goofy fake lease or a straight purchase for cash (unless Lexus came up with something on the QT for fill some gaps).
