I think the dealer's selling point to the customer is not having to wait up to 2 years to get one, if they wanted it special ordered. Now I'm really curious what the reserve is. As a tidbit, to jump the line to get an Aventador is going to cost $700k.

This is what I suspect as the intention of these dealership owners, except they didn't anticipate sales being this weak. Now they're dumping it into the market to avoid any potential or further losses. I can bet that bids won't reach the reserve in that ebay ad. If Lexus is having a hard time selling them brand new at MSRP, just imagine how difficult it would be to get the same or more, pre-owned.
yup, that's pretty well known tactics for a lot of high end dealerships to flip the prices of those "used/new" cars. though i am pretty sure lexus wouldn't be happy about it. i think one this one we can say lexus was very stern on trying to stop flipping (anyone remembers the 2 yr lease thing?). if they find out any dealership trying to flip cars this way, lexus corp can do some very funny thing to hurt the dealerships on their allocations.

but i guess we will never find out how that plays out, because now the problem is for dealerships to try unload these cars in a timely fashion.

most of these cars aren't even pre-owned, they are brand new non-titled just sitting in the dealership. and the ebay one, i am quite sure it won't hit reserve at all either. i am not surprised if the reserve is pretty much just the msrp. they can't afford it to go on public if a car is sold under msrp. i wonder if they will then contact the bidders and try to work out a deal under the table

2 yrs? no longer! keep in mind the lfa run will end at the end of 2012. we are almost done with 2011, almost 1 yr run already!!! last i checked (though that's few months ago), you can order a lfa and get it mid 2012

interesting, that number looks "small", and i think lexus makes their lfa somewhat in order?

if cars are really numbered accordingly, then for sure it took long enough for this car to pop up

yup you are right, from the previously maintained list:

#069 - Silver - Massapequa NY, USA - 04/11

i don't want to go into details, but i believed the owner of the dealership supposedly purchased the car. guess he doesn't want it anymore

Default LFA on eBay!

Looks like we'll be seeing more of these now that the some of the lease terms have started to expire. I wonder how high it'll go?

I'm sorry but there aren't any lease terms expiring for the Lexus LFA..

...because none of the LFAs were sold under Lease agreements..
