How come the yellow LFA does not get repainted like this one? Even the keychain leather has some wear and tear on it.

Because the Pearl Yellow LFA is the latest close-to-production prototype. The only reason why the Matte Black was repainted in the first place is due to the wear and tear on the finish. Since this car is nearing its term in the United States, due to customs, the car has to be returned the original color it arrived.

Weird that this thread pops up now because that's exactly the color combo that I'm painting my LFA. My plastic model LFA, that is. I just got my Tamiya LFA model in the mail, and I was planning on painting it matte black with a cream interior and blue brake calipers.

Here's a teaser pic of the plastic, unpainted LFA frame next to the two model cars I've made in years past. I'll probably post up a thread of pics once I finish it, if anyone is interested.

I would probably never worry about turning the stereo on in this car let alone drive around Nokia Live and the Staples Center "bumping" it like it's a Rolls Royce. And then the reving in the streets - I get doing it for the guys inside the show but the bulk of people who truly appreciate that car are not gonna think it's very cool for some dude to be cruising downtown LA throwing his LFA through the revs. Overall though - I'm jealous you got a ride!!!

Obviously after several washes and quick detailer wipedowns...the Matte finish started turning into a semi-gloss. This was its last appearance to the public at the NY Auto Show 3/31/10, before it was repainted to White Pearl for the commercial.
The original always looked mismatched between rear bumper and body to me. Nothing to do with the gloss.

It actually was from the start.

You can even see it when the car was spotted in Europe rollin' with the Whitest White Prototype.

What I found interesting is, a car with matte/flat paint is representing a car care product company

Some sad news...the first LFA to come to the United States in Matte Black has finally served its useful life and has been air shipped back to Japan as of Monday.

It did it's job very well while here in the states. I agree though, sad to see it go.
