I think USA versions will have two reverse lights turn on by default.
The other light I believe is used for "Fog Conditions" as a rear lamp indicator..
Some car companies do offer a rear fog indicator in their US Models.. MB comes to mind.

The Fog light/Reverse light choice is one of the customization options that the owners could choose from when ordering their LFA.
