Default Some LFA facts

I went through my LFA books, and found some interesting facts:
-Dry sump lubribcation system that not only lowers the centre of gravity and the car's moment of inertia, but enables the engine to handle sustained, high-speed cornering at up to 2 G.
- For maximum control, gearshift speeds can be adjusted in seven stages - from approximately 0.2 seconds for intense track work to 1.0 second for smooth progress - using a Shift Speed Selection Dial.
- For a wonderfully deep and balanced note, an equal-length exhaust system has been developed. Here, the left and the right exhaust banks have been kept separate to avoid sound interference. Furthermore, the length of each of the triple tailpipes has been specifically tuned to create a more impressive tone.
-A refined version of the LFA's head turning engine and exhaust signature can be enjoyed in the comfort of the cabin. To achieve this, our engineers worked closely with Yamaha's musical instrument division to ensure only the most melodious soprano tones make ingress
- Similarly, every key component (including the two heaviest, the engine and rear tranmission) sits low and within the wheelbase. This creates a low polar moment of inertia, which greatly assist the car's high-speed cornering ability.
- The CF monocoque cabin section, weighing 100kg less than its aluminium equivalent, is at four times the strength. Overall, CF accounts for 65% of the LFA's bodyshell weight, while aluminium comprises the remaining 35%

It will be a long wait, until sometime in 2012. My application was accepted in April, so it was quite a bit behind others. Also I don't want firs year cars, even for the LFA.

Yep, it is very business like, but I'd rather be in your shoes given that Lexus USA organized test rides and gave flexible payment options etc... Here, I will have to pretty much wait for the delivery of the car, and then pay for everything up front AND sign a 2 years lease

I'm also very curious as to what the LFA book is comprised of.
I went to select my colors and options yesterday. From talking to the LFA rep, I found out a few things:

LFA distribution: 5 in Vancouver, 1 Calgary, 1 Windsor, 1 Toronto (me), 1 Ottawa, 1 Montreal.

LFA books was ordered by Lexus Canada at the beginning of the marketing program, so it looks like Lexus USA skipped this step.

The freight charge is now $5500, not 13K as previously mentioned.

As for my future LFA, I picked dark red exterior with white leather seats/black everything else. Light wheels with yellow brake calipers. I also selected ML sound system (max 1500 w output , no extra cost).
For parting gift, they gave me the glass/crystal block with the LFA hollowgram inside. That thing weighted a ton, and they would engave my car's serial number on the base once they have that info.

Not to be absolutely ridiculous, but is there any chance you would bring it out to some of the Lexus meets? Or have a show and tell for Lexus owners? I would love to see this car in person, or, god forbid, sit in it.

Congratulations on your purchase, it is obvious you save your money for things that are truly important to you, and not what advertising tells you to send your money on.

Haha, to fit the image one might need to get some 'secret agent' sunglasses and put on the 'look.'

Interesting! I wonder about the demographic/regional significance of that distribution.

A hologram? That sounds cool.
