Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition?
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...-supercar.html
The Lexus crazy folks over at LexusEnthusiast have uncovered a Japanese story about a possible Nürburgring Edition of the new LFA supercar, adding credibility to earlier reports that a more track-focused model is on the way. The extra high performance model is reportedly named after the world famous race track/public road where the LFA underwent extensive testing and which is used as a benchmark to rate all high-performance vehicles.
Upgrades to the LFA Nürburgring Edition are to include a front splitter, a large rear spoiler (fixed), a stiffer suspension, lighter weight wheels, stickier tires and a slight bump of 10-hp. This would bring the LFA’s total engine output to 562-hp from its 4.8-liter V8.
The model will be offered in just four colors: black, matte black, the orange color seen above and another color that was lost in Google translation.
Lexus has yet to confirm details of a Nürburgring Edition LFA, but we’re excited about the possibility, although we’re a bit surprised the carbon chassis creation is being eclipsed so quickly.

just heard about the new LFA Special Edition ... awesome! And this year's race version of the LFA. I believe the yellow LFA pictured is the Special Edition production model. Here is a video of the latest Nürburgring LFA race car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA7Y7alYn9U

Official: LFA Nurburgring
Lexus hasn’t even started production of the LFA supercar yet, but it’s already unveiled a limited edition version – the Lexus LFA Nurburgring. Built to celebrate the LFA’s entry into the 2010 Nurburgring 24 Hours race, just 50 versions of this track-focussed supercar will be made.
How special is this special Lexus LFA Nurburgring?
The tweaks and changes aren’t radical: the front-mounted 4.8-litre V10 has 10 bhp more (up to 562bhp) and the automated manual ‘box now shifts quicker (gear changes are down from 0.2 to 0.15 seconds) though the 3.7sec 0-62mph time and 202mph top speed remain the same.
Other revisions include a larger carbon-reinforced plastic front spoiler, side sills and a big fixed rear wing (claimed to increase downforce), while the suspension has been tweaked and the new alloys feature higher-grip tyres.
Just 50 cars will be made (within the total production run of 500 LFAs) and buyers will be offered the chance to spend a day at the ‘Ring receiving one-to-one track tuition. They all receive a 365-day pass to the Nordschleife too.
Lexus is claiming the Nurburgring-spec LFA is ‘aimed at hardcore track driving enthusiasts’ but we doubt there'll ever go near a circuit

I think the car itself and the driving experience will be more important.
It seems that internet enthusiasts more than anyone want an official 'Ring lap time.
With that said, the LFA is still months and months away from production. I am sure in due time Toyota will release some sort of official lap time, or at the very least a production LFA will be tested on the 'Ring by a good driver for an unofficial lap time.
