quick comment about the driving course... a pretty short, tight parking lot cone course...
i drove the stock GS350 through it first... wasn't expecting a whole lot, but its handling was quite decent.
then i drove an IS-F through ... found the 2 stage intake very abrupt so as rpms climb there's a second fairly hard jump and surge in power. car couldn't really be used on the track that much, but the handling was quite good, but not as good as i thought it might be. maybe my miata has spoiled me.
finally i drove the IS350 with all f-sport options. i enjoyed driving it the most through the course because it was still plenty fast enough but wasn't as front heavy as the IS-F. i didn't care for the f-sport exhaust sound though, sounded cheap to me.
anyway, this was that car:

Damm-it... Why do we not have these events in Japan!
They said they would but they seem to have sent all the demo cars to the US... Not that I am pi$$ed or anything.

You should be, since you put your name on the list as an interested buyer, they should let you ride in it at least

The 5 axxis GS and IS-F are just ridiculous in person. I could not find anything bad on the IS-F in particular. I loved the aggressive rear of the GS. We got there before 7am so bit got some great shots with the sun not visible yet. With the flat paint, it looks magical!

Dave,
Only one of the prototypes is in the US.
They are being very careful about who dirves it because they need it to hit all the auto shows and do the local invitation based introductions.
Regarding allocations, February begins next week.
When I was at Homestead I let them know I would be in Cuba for part of the month and may not have connectivity. The response was that I should not worry.
Whitest white is my exterior color choice. They let me know that it has extra Titanium dioxide chips, has very low UV absorbance and is considered the whitest car color there is.
