Here's a capture of the LFA on the highway in SoCal - I think videos of the LFA on open roads are pretty rare so far. Unfortunately the video poster said the sound was horrible because of wind noise so he dubbed it with music. We should ask him to just post the original anyway

(As usual, I have forced 720p in the link, so if you want a lower quality adjust it or chop off the tag.)

I agree gengar I would have preferred the original sound track but it is good to see the LFA out in the wild (aka California highways ) with other cars, thanks for sharing

FYI in the CAR article both the SLS AND the LFA got 5 stars (out of a possible 5). I just got the mag and outside of the transmission it was a pretty solid article. It really seems to freak the experts out that a "Lexus" has built such a raw car!

Well this is why the LFA is special. Seems the SLS actually uses the technology that was to be the next DODGE VIPER. Then it uses the same engine as other AMG cars, brakes, tranny.

Damn near apples to oranges now.

Short video of the red LFA (in the rain!) at that car show in Japan (some other videos from that car show were posted earlier in this thread):

TF109B posted a video of the same action in #1639 in this thread, and this seems to be taken by another person nearby, but this one is in HD. As usual, I added the tag on the link to force 720p, so change it manually or chop it off if you don't want HD.

Has anybody been able to find out yet why the LFAs that are finding their way into the magazines hands are so heavy? Lightest so far has been about 3580 curb, while Lexus has stated that the car curbs between 3263 and 3480 lbs.

Maybe that is without the ML system and dry weight?

There is even an option for no audio whatsoever. Between ML, non-ML, and no system, there is a lot of possible difference in weight, plus all the other options.

I don't think those are dry weights according to Lexus. I haven't known them to state the weights of their vehicles before without fluids. Something is off, or it could be that these are still just prototypes that aren't final production models, therefore weighing more? No way a car with all carbon fiber as a tub and skin weighs close to 3600lbs. The Camry is less than that! Sound deadening equipment? What could it be.

I'd assume 3263-3480 is between "lightest" (non-nur spec) and fully equipped. 1/2-1/4 tank, all other fluids. As TF said, Lexus doesn't quote dry weights, and they clearly have on their site 3263-3480lbs curb weight.

@Gengar, I didn't know you could get it without the stereo altogether. Interesting, thanks for that bit of info.

Yeah, I didn't know either until I was placing my order with the LFA specialist and he mentioned that audio delete was an option. I picked Config II anyway so got ML.

There were a couple other options that are not on the website or the order sheet that was mailed out with the allocation packages, although I can't remember all of them right now.

Default Lexus LFA Nürburgring 2010 Qualifying onboard video

Hope this isn't a repost but i found this on the Japanese Gazoo racing site (its has not been posted on the English site). It is the top video on the page and i suggest you let it load for a while before watching cause it downloads quite slow.
