ah interesting, i wonder about it too. i think i read somewhere that the time the beeping sound comes can be programmed. if so, maybe you can disable too. iirc, in sports mode when you hit redline, the screen sort of flicker in color a bit. that's good indication already

I don't have the actual facts, but using common sense, I would bet you can disabled it.

Let's put it this way, my 2004 Subaru STi got a programmable shift light in the gauge cluster that beep at any rpm that you programmed it to. Or you can disabled it all together. That was 2004, on a $33k car. This is 2011, on a $400k car that is fully computerized, everything is configurable and programmable. Yeah I bet you can disabled that beep.

^ The shift beep can't be disabled on the IS F. This is a design parameter outside the realm of recent development or expense.

Exactly. Given the high range of customization on the LFA though, you have to wonder whether or not it's possible on the LFA.

I think this should answer your question .

The third pipe as you can see is not directly connected to the two main exhaust pipes. The third pipe is connected to the multi-stage main muffler, and the third pipe is there mainly for acoustic reasons.

The third pipe might also be there for performance reasons, but that is just a guess.
Can someone lead me to where I can get a high-rez version of these pictures? TRDFantasy appears to have canceled his Image Shack account, and I have not got a response from him via PM. There's a thumbnail on google, but it's blurry when blown up.

here's the thumbnail

I will look into this. It was always a question I had, every time I watched an in-car video of the LFA, I was annoyed by the beep. Now that I drive the car, however, the beep really isn't as noticeable as in the videos - it is much quieter compared to the intake and exhaust sound, especially if the windows are open.

So, to be honest, I will probably keep the beeps, even if they are able to be disabled. The engine revs so fast that you really do derive value from the audible cues.
