Lexus LFA- Discussion, Pictures & News (new colors gloss black, blue, yellow)

Yeah, I didn't know either until I was placing my order with the LFA specialist and he mentioned that audio delete was an option. I picked Config II anyway so got ML.
There were a couple other options that are not on the website or the order sheet that was mailed out with the allocation packages, although I can't remember all of them right now.

Hope this isn't a repost but i found this on the Japanese Gazoo racing site (its has not been posted on the English site). It is the top video on the page and i suggest you let it load for a while before watching cause it downloads quite slow.

I placed my order during a pretty hectic day (week, even) so didn't really get a chance to think much about it, much less write down the differences. I will be contacting my LFA specialist to confirm the entire order so, depending on how that is formatted when it is sent to me, that could reveal all the options not listed on the allocation order form / website.
The significant delete options were the audio delete I mentioned above, and additionally, the extending spoiler can actually be deleted. The extending spoiler delete does not have a fixed spoiler as replacement; I can only imagine the spoiler delete is for weight saving, but the PS could not confirm that. I did confirm that the badge delete is only the rear LFA badge, and the F on the fenders are not included in that delete option.
Most of the differences were interior colors or materials and the areas they are applied to. There wound up being a lot more interior areas than on the configurator and the allocation order sheet. For example, the steering wheel and the door grips are separate areas, so the material and color for each had to be specified. The instrument panel, door trim, and center console also had some different areas, although I don't recall if each got its own area. There were also color option areas around the dashboard, on the pillars, and around the center console. Additionally, there were some interior carbonfiber options. I recall that at least the area over the dash could be done in carbonfiber, although I elected to have alcantara.
There was also a floor mat color option, which I assume is to match the floor mat color with the carpet color; there was no delete option (I asked, just out of curiosity), but I suppose those are easy enough to remove.
That's all I remember for now, but I'll post of course if I recall anything else.

That's a lot of customization. I'd go with carbon fiber for most of everything i could. the Alcantara I'm sure looks great though. I just like the look of exposed carbon fiber, donno if it'd weigh less than having that area covered with Alcatara or leather but I would imagine so. The wing delete is crazy. how about the little winglets on the sides over the rear taillights? I'd keep them but i heard they were optional as well.

About the options:
-Little winglets are optional. They give a continous look of a lip spoiler when the main spoiler is in the down position. I did not pick it since it looks like an after thought on the beautiful LFA design.
- I don't remember the option to delete the main spoiler.
- Lexus people reccommended Leather over Alcantara for ease of maintenance. They said the latter would be great if I were to track the car a lot.
- Light weight ML sound system and Nav can be deleted.
- Stiching thread color can be chosen separately.
- Brake caliper color is optional
- 3 wheel styles to chose from
- Last but not least the Nur package is optional

Cleaning is actually easy, if you drop something on it, you wipe it with a damp cloth and you can brush it to keep it clean or vacuum. Leather you have to condition and isn't as durable. Leather is hot in the summer and cold in the winter, I will likely never buy another car with leather as the only option.

Absolutely in love with the black pillars and roof!!
Looking at previous 'ring edition photos (studio pics), the other car did not have a black hood or black bumper treatment. That was all body color. Wonder if those pieces are just for test fitment.
