Huh? Even Toyota's official Tokyo Motor Show site has a spot for the LF-A, so it's definitely gonna be shown. What's going to be a no show is the LF-A III, which, according to Edmunds, will undergo an aerodynamics redo. I only hope it isn't gonna take them too long before the hype dies down.

Word on the Tokyo auto show floor is that the Lexus LF-A supercar is a no show because it's not fast enough. Lexus wants it to reach 350 kp/h but it'll only touch 330 kp/h. That's 205 mph. Seems fast enough to us, but Lexus wants the LF-A to be faster than all its rivals. To reach the mark, Lexus has put the car back on the drawing board for an aerodynamics redo.
Acura is in a similar situation with its V10 supercar. Acura wants the front-engine coupe to be a grand tourer. Think Acura DB9. But the car's styling got a thumbs-down from the public at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show when it was shown as the Acura Advance Aero Coupe. It too is getting reshaped.
Which will be the fastest around the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany is the real question. Nissan's GT-R just lapped the place in 7 minutes and 38 seconds. Lexus and Acura want to beat that mark. It'll be a three-way shoot-out for King of the Ring honors and it should be fun. We'll keep you posted. -- Scott Oldham, Inside Line Editor in Chief

I really hope they don't get too ambitious or else by the time the production LF-A is finalized, the R36 GT-R will be coming out and Lexus will have to go back to the drawing board yet again.

Lexus wants to be as fast as a Lamborghini. Good for them. Also would be interesting to know the 0-100 KM/h.
I have a feeling it will be $120-130k USD for the car.
The ultimate Lexus

Lexus vehicles were never about bragging rights before. Sure, they played the numbers games (best MPG in some classes, highest HP in some classes, etc.), but building a Supercar is nothing short of excessive flaunting of "My car is faster than your car" mentality.
If Lexus wants to make the car go beyond 205 mph, they really need to make this car extra light and aerodynamic...

Someone always has to stir up some ******. I think this is nothing but sensational journalism.
I don't remember anywhere being confirmed that car WILL debut at TMS'07. After all this is Japanese premiere of LF-A II.
Who knows.. Maybe next year we will see production car at TMS or Detroit.
