Not a production car (the production NISMO by Nissan's own admission is different from the one used to the lap. The engine and suspension were tuned differently).

You can buy the Nismo GTR configured like the one that ran 7:08...it's called N-attack.

It's still a damn shame the LFA was tested on a wet Top Gear track, but still did well.

Credit due to Nissan. That Nismo is a true Godzilla. On the subject of Nurb laps, during the broadcast of the 12 hours of Sebring, the pit commentators interviewed the Viper crew. They asked a question stating they were back at the Nurburgring, so what were they doing? The driver led on about retaking the lap record. I think a new acr may be around the corner.

For A good read about the history of lap times at Nurburgring look for a WSJ article titled "the King of the Ring" about the late Stefan Belloff in the mighty Porsche 962. A race car yes, but still fascinating.
