LFA fell from #19 to #26 overall due to repair to the front bumper.

And more importantly, the LFA posting faster average and fastest laps, both faster than the GT-R's in SP8T class, LOL!
Interestingly enough, the GT-R that won the SP8T class was Gran Turismo's own, Kazu Yamauchi himself with 3 co-drivers! I bet Forza game creators can't drive well enough to be Nurburgring class winners. TAKE THAT XBOX!!! hehe.

Congratulations to Lexus.
Very impressive #15 finish overall out of 180. I was really hoping for a top ten finish, but still #15 is great considering it is only putting out 470 HP with the SP8 class restrictions.
Anyone knows how the Mclaren MP4-12C GT3 (SP9 GT3) and Ferrari 458 Italia challenge (SP8) placed??

Found the full chart of results:

Poor Mclaren MP4-12C finished #30 inspite of being in the very highly modified GT3 class. I guess, those turboes were not cooperating in the MP4 case either.
I almost fell off my chair laughing my a** off when I saw the GT Academy webpage congratulating Nissan for winning its class (SP8 T). Well, there were only two cars in the class and the other car was another Nissan GTR. Hardly qualifies as a win.

Why do you say things like that? T is basically for Turbo. The cars are close to stock and weigh around 3600lbs. Basically the same as the LFA in SP8 in terms of how they're prepared. A class win is still a class win. No one laughs at the LFA in SP8 class for running against Aston Martin road cars.

I think it is fair to group together all the non-GT3 SP cars, and say that the 911 GT3 KR was #1 and the LFA #2.
That said, it is significant. The GT3 R is the hybrid that has several endurance wins and is in a completely different class compared to the Gazoo LFA, and the KR is a heavily modified 911 Cup Car by Kremer Racing, a team with decades of endurance experience. I think that team has a couple 24h wins in the 70s and 80s. To be up there with the 911s, which by far have the most total Nürburgring endurance exposure, is an accomplishment. The Gazoo LFA finished on the same lap, so maybe without the damage repair stop, the LFA is #1 in non-GT3 classes (of course, in endurance racing there is no justification to say "if").
Unsurprisingly the Manthey Porsche may have been one more 911 that should have been in front. I read reports that there were some attempted timing shenanigans that led to a crash on the final lap resulting in no qualification, but no Manthey cars show up in the "not qualified" section of the results.

Interestingly, Bridgestone is no longer the tire supplier for the Gazoo LFA racing team. It was under contract with Lexus in the previous as the tires supplier for the Gazoo LFA, but looks like that contract has been terminated.
Falken is now supplying the Falken Azenis racing slick tires for the Gazoo LFA racing team.
On a side, Gazoo now needs to move up into the more competitive SP9 GT3 class for a top ten or possibly top 5 finish. With 470 HP and 3400 lbs, it is pretty much maxed out in the SP8 class.

SP is not a stock class; all the SP racers are barebones (like the 911 Cup). V class is closer to stock. SP1-8 are organized based on displacement. The unfortunately-named SP9 and SP10 (as these have nothing to do with displacement in the way SP1-8 do) are recently renamed classes, with SP9 being GT3 and SP10 being GT4, so there is a huge jump from SP8 to these classes. (I also don't know why they made GT3 -> SP9 and GT4 -> SP10 instead of the other way around, since GT4 is below GT3.)

Also, if Gazoo is too return next year to race with an LFA., in order to fulfill the homologation requirements, they are going to need atleast 50 production road going LFA to be able to participate.
Now, considering the current LFA is going out of production at the end of this year, it would be interesting to see what Lexus has in store next year.
