All you LF-A fans...
Hello people. I was just wondering (being a Nissan fan), why people like yourselves prefer the '11 Lexus LF-A to the '12 Nissan GT-R? I mean the GT-R is better in every way, right? Let me explain:
GT-R: 520bhp
451lb-ft torque
0-60= 2.9s
1/4 mile: 11.2 @ 127mph
193mph top speed
Price $89,900
LF-A: Claimed 553bhp (rubbish, as it has been dyno'd at less than 500)
355lb-ft torque
0-60= 3.6s
1/4 mile: 11.8 @ 124mph
200mph top speed
Price $375,000 (for a fast Toyota)
Wow Lexus, wow. People pay an extra $285,000 for (apparently) 13 extra bhp, less torque, a slower 0-60 time, a slower 1/4 mile time, (apparently) 7 more mph top speed (wow), and.......the looks of an ugly, fake Lamborghini?
Please people, get your thinking caps on.....how can ANYONE like this car. And no - I am not saying everyone in the world must like the GT-R, but come on, why so much credit for piece of junk? Here is just a small list of cars that are much faster than the LF-A for much less money:
Ferrari 458 Italia
Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560
Ferrari 599 GTO
Porsche 911 Turbo S
Porsche 911 GT2 RS
Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini Murcielago LP-670
Enough?
GT-R: 520bhp
451lb-ft torque
0-60= 2.9s
1/4 mile: 11.2 @ 127mph
193mph top speed
Price $89,900
LF-A: Claimed 553bhp (rubbish, as it has been dyno'd at less than 500)

People who want an LF-A don't necessarily want a car that is a world beater, very much like Aston Martin customers or even Bentley customers.
If it comes down to performance, there are faster cars, and many of them are cheaper. Personally, if I had the money for it, I would spend a little more and get the Aventador

Ahhhh!!! I see what you did there. For bench racing, you took the slowest time of the LFA you could find and then compared it with the quickest time you could find on the GTR and a trap speed simply unheard of in a GTR. Where did you get that 127 mph trap speed from???
So I could post tons of data on here defending the LFA, but really what benefit will that give me?? Absolutely nothing, but wasted time and effort.
Your post is utterly ridiculous and just like the typical other GTR fanbois I see everywhere hating on the LFA, you skew and bias all the data in GTR's favor. I don't even know such useless and nonsensical post will even survive the moderator's wrath so my efforts to debunk your hatred there will be wasted effort.
You claim LFA is a 'fast Toyota' and called it a 'piece of junk'. So is it a fair statement to call the GTR a 'fast Datsun'?? It is actually not since Lexus is a fully luxury brand and Nissan is not. I have sat inside a GTR and it truly feels like an economy sports car in truest sense.
How am I supposed to respond to your ignorance?? Yes, LFA dynos at 515 wheel HP when recently put on dyno runs 7 times.
You accused Lexus of putting fake horsepower numbers when you don't even understand that dynos are supposed to measure power to the wheels after the drivetrain loss, which is 15 - 17% for RWD/front engine cars and 20 - 25% for the AWD cars.
You do realize '12 GTR dynos stock no higher than 430 - 440 wheel HP due the higher AWD drivetrain loss right??? So using your analogy (or shall I say, ignorance), the GTR "does not even make 450 HP". Right???
I have seen too many of you all over the internet. Again, you are a typical GTR fanboi who hates the LFA and came here to express your hatred for this car.
You are no car enthusiast. Your post is so ridiculous that I am thinking you are snickering behind that keyboard thinking all the LFA fans will get riled up. You are just a hater who came here seeking attention and for all intents and purposes, just needs to be ignored.

Another way to think about this: In spite of the performance numbers Nissan priced the GTR at 90K. Other cars you mentioned price their models over 200k. Why did Nissan not join the rest of the bunch and price the car accordingly? Because they realize the value of the Nissan brand and what expectations come with the brand.

Hacked CL to become a Mod
why buy anything? I'm happy driving my 2000bhp civic on PS3
in all seriousness, both cars drive differently. Naturally aspirated cars are more lively than turbocharged cars. I've heard both cars rev and judging by sound alone I can already tell which I would rather drive.
why buy a 90K Nissan when you can get a mod your car using the same amount of money?
your argument makes no sense.

im not big on the LFA either. but that horsepower is measured at the flywheel. not wheels. so it having under 500 at the wheels isn't all that shocking.
anyway this guy has 1 post. he's obviously creating an account just to moan about some aggression he has against the LFA

Something seems wrong....like this guy has a hidden agenda. He couldn't have come here with this silly post just asking that silly question. He must be some marketing representative who was ordered to find out what we really think about the GTR. Maybe he works for Nissan. Whomever he is, something seems wrong. It does not compute.

Exactly my thoughts. We have had Nissan GTR fanboi trolls before posting garbage here, but this guy is just in a different league. They are some of the worst fans I have ever seen.
LFA gets million times more respect on Porsche (6speedonline) and Ferrari's (FerrariChat) and other German car boards than that. As a matter of fact, Nissan sales are telling that GTR sales are tanking big time while Porsche's 997.2 GT3 for the same price is getting stronger every month (ofcourse, I know why this happening).
That is what kept me from going full force on him.
I wrote he must be hiding behind his keyboard snickering while all of the LFA fans get aggitated and riled up. He says "get your caps on" and insults the LFA in every shape or form. He has a hidden agenda of getting all of the LFA fans all riled up.
He picked the worst performance numbers for the LFA (name me a car I will get you some bad numbers on that car) that even a 435 HP GT3 can easily match with Michelin super-slick Cup tires on, he insulted Lexus by calling it a 'toyota', he insulted the LFA by calling it a 'piece of junk' and then he questions the output of the LFA without even understanding how dynos work. LOL

Excuse me OP, if you want to be a GTR fanboy, why don't you join the Nissan forums instead of ranting about on CL. No offense, but you are ignorant. Someone please close this thread.

Lamborghini isn't even Lamborghini anymore. Guess you forgot they are now owned by VW Group (i.e Germans). At least Lexus is still owned and operated by a Japanese company.
