Fantastic flying lap video from the LFA at VLN5. Available in HD.

Minimum weight regulation, so it's a restriction put on the LFA, just as with intake restrictors or fuel capacity. No surprise now that the 458 gets better laptimes lol.

Great result for the LFA! Can't wait to see how Gazoo does with their LFAs at the 24 hour Nurburgring race.

Great vid. That is an SP7 Z4 btw, not a SP9/GT3. The video does say it's a V8, so I'm not sure why it is allowed to race in SP7 (remember that neither the E46-based M3 with the shoehorned V8 or the M3 GTR were allowed to).

Amazing how well the LFA hangs with the GT3 Cup cars, considering they are heavily modified and the LFA is close to stock.

I love how the LFA danced in the twisties.
Can't get over how bare the BMW was, and the Merc (sls?) was smoking after one lap.

Way less than stock considering the power and rev limit (7500 rpm and 480 PS).

Don't think they're rev limited in the races. Unless I'm mistaken they're rev limited in the videos of demonstration runs but not when they race.

I can guarantee you 100%. They are rev limited at 7500 rpm. 100%

With the engine air restrictions, the engine simply cannot breathe past 7500 rpm in order to make proper power/torque when it needs gobs of air.

I've watched onboard videos of them revving past 7500rpm, go to gazoo racing website and this will be cleared up.

More importantly autosport print edition is reporting that Toyota is preparing an LMP1 car, testing a Dome LMP car, open and coupe, but that's not all- a GTE car based on the LFA is also being tested! Toyota is looking to be a serious player in the future LeMans, pray for a red coupe successor to the GT ONE lmp car, that's my wish. BoP is claiming the car's MAX hp (580ps), no way it makes that power being air restricted.

That is impossible. They are not making anything more than 480 HP. SP8 4.0 - 6.2 Liter class does not even allow over 500 HP.

You could see how the GT3 cup simply pulls away on the straights because it is lighter and making similar HP.

Take it up with the folks over there @ ADAC. The Balance Of Performance says that's what the car is making.. or maybe something is lost in translation?
