I am well fluent in this method as I have used it several times already... and it is a pain in the ***!

You had Brembo BBK on your LS460L? How much were those rotor?

I pay close attention to rotor cost, it is the highest cost wear item on a nice car.

The $5k LFA rotor is just my guess from him saying $500, I think he just missed a zero. The front rotor on the Scuderia is $9k each. I think the LFA should be the same, or probably more, is hard to say. Ferrari don't sell their parts cheap either.

yes i have had bbk on pretty much all my cars. my ls460l had 15" brembo. i think rotors are like 3k each? forgot already. ap racing on my gs400, rotors were like over a grand each, and that's 13.5" 7 yrs ago. 14" stoptech on my sc430, i think it was 1500 on the rotor. all very painful. not to mention every time you change the rotors, you are supposed to change all those spring bolts as well (should be one time use only).

rotor prices go up exponentially with size just look at the 14" to 15". lfa has 15.4" carbon rotors...

given those prices, i would say 5k on the carbon rotors on lfa to be very cheap too cheap in fact, haha

hey guess what i found

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6896093-post22.html

front rotors less than 5k a piece, rear less than 6k a piece. that's not bad at all but then again you shouldn't have to really replace carbon rotors. funny thing is look at the pads, that's what killing it

wow, never knew steel rotor can cost that much..............I guess you got 2 pieces rotor, but still that's a lot for steel.

Yes they do, just like most things in life.

I don't think that is cheap, the cheapest I found is the Brembo 15.5" carbon rotor on the Vette ZR1, $1500 each.....that is low for carbon. OEM Porsche carbon rotor on GT3/GT2 are $4k a piece, but those are smaller. Scuderia's rotor is $9k each, that's a rip off.............supposedly though Ferrari got the most advanced carbon rotor I guess. Nissan want something outrageous for the GTR Spec V's carbon rotor, forgot exactly how much, I remember rotors and pads for all 4 wheels is like $40k.

So my $5k guess was close! $3k for pads are insane. Yes for street driving, carbon rotor last at least 150k miles, so I am not afraid of their cost since you never have to replace them.

The most common denominator for owning a LFA is owning a Lexus Dealership

The folks I met or have heard about typically own some kind of business

One guy owns a large swimming pool construction company

I believe the guy who owns 003 and has another one on order made it in medical equipment/ devices

One guy has a large computer recycling business

One guy makes marinades

One guy runs Oracle

Is only 10 times more in money, a normal Lexus that normal people owns is $40k, brake pads are $300. So a LFA is $400k, pads are $3k. That just means a person need to have 10 times more money then a normal person to afford one. There are hundreds of thousands of people in this world who got 10X, 100X, 1000X more money then normal folks

There are thirty thousands people in this world who are worth $30 millions USD. A LFA is very affordable to those folks.
