It looks good in the setting sun! I think it's a bland color, but it could be better if it were 'lighter'.

Loving this color Could anyone tell me how I could obtain the paint for this color? Not in the funds for it at the moment by any means, but I'm just really curious. It would just be nice to know when the time comes to paint.

I've heard it's the same Smoky Granite mica for the "regular" Lexus models like the LS/GS/IS ...... same paint code ......

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm asking HOW I could get this paint. It's clear that you said it was 1G0, but is there a specific brand for this color? Sorry I'm a total paint noob.

Click on any color square on this page and you can buy paint:
http://www.toyotareference.com/lexuslfa

Or you could probably have a local bodyshop order it for you.

I just noticed this topic, cool writeup. Anyone else notice that the OP said the doors were removed so that it would be easier to take out the seats, but the doors are still attached in the photo? Hehe.

No there is not. 1G0 Smokey Granite can be ordered through any of the major paint suppliers. PPG, BASF, Sikkens, Glasurit and etc. A body shop will be able to mix it up to match per factory color code.

Am I the only one who thinks the owner of the car is lame in letting a group of random non Lexus people touch the car let alone tear it apart, paint it, and reupholster it. There is no way in hell. Plus I liked the white more anyway.

actually i believe this was one of the corporate prototype cars, where they were "done" with the original color and the leather was worn, so they redid everything to give it a fresher look
