uh, fugly? hell no. i agree, when i first saw it i didnt care for the air vent near the b/c pillars, but it's highly functional. even the design of the sideview mirrors directs airflow into those funnels.

aside from the vents, which are all functional and the result of 9 years R&D, there is absolutely nothing that makes the car "fugly".

if you don't like the headlights and overall flow of the car... then you just have bad taste.

Nope. It's just fugly. You can make a functional car look beautiful. They didn't do that.

Look at the McLaren F1. It was functional and was still one of the best looking super-cars of all time.

The Nurburgring Race LFAs looked much better without the vent.

That was sexy. The production car is fugly.

Video: Lexus LFA breaks champagne glass with science

You remember the Lexus LFA, right? The world hasn't heard too much from the Toyota supercar since the carbon fiber wonder hit the scene last year, but that doesn't mean the company hasn't been playing with its new toy. Toyota just released a new spot featuring the V10 beast roaring to life and shattering a champagne glass with nothing but its exhaust note. We're well aware that skepticism is the internet's middle name, but Toyota claims that it hired a physicist to figure out exactly what kind of glass would resonate at the same frequency as the LFA exhaust.

From there, the car was just a dyno pull away from sending the flute to the recycling bin. According to the press release, there's zero CG at work here – just pure science. Hop the jump to see the whole shebang for yourself and to check out the press blast. You can also cruise over to the LFA site to download a special V10 ring tone.

First they don't want to disturb the champagne glasses and now they are out to destroy them.

I wonder if there is a meaning behind it? Such as Lexus is out breaking old ideas people have about them.

Sure, if the glass's resonance frequency is the same as your engine or exhaust noise.

Thats just wicked and sick.. Thanks for letting me see what a true Lexus is about. Is anyone on here going to buy one? or possibly trade their SC in on one?

Ethix: well, you're entitled to your opinion. you don't have to buy one. i think most of us find it quite stunning, however. :cleans drool off laptop, while involuntarily continuing to drool:
