FS: 1995 Lexus SC400 *Salvage Title*
1995 Lexus SC400 with 190k miles.
Here are the details.
CONS:
SALVAGE TITLE
Body damage in rear pass side quarter panel. I got a quote of $850 to paint and repair the damage. Heck, wouldn't be OEM paint but sure would look better than it does now.
Paint is almost non-existent. (Or clear coat, rather.) This car lived in Phoenix and Salt Lake city for a few years, which explains the sun damage.
Of course, the front 2 seats are ripped. Granted, it doesn't look like a buzzards butt, but they're ripped nontheless.
Fuel gauge needle in cluster is out and sometimes works sometimes doesnt. I have found that it is the fuel lever sender inside the gas tank.
Climate control screen is bleeding...you can make out what it says though. A/C/heat works great!
Two and a half cluster bulbs are burnt out, working on getting that corrected. ALso the power antenna makes a repulsive grinding sound when fully extended, so I unplugged it. Still works fine, just doesnt look like an RC car when you decide to listen to the radio.
PROS:
Straight as an arrow at 80 MPH on the interstate Let go of the wheel and find out.
Just about everything electronically works, Tilt steering, power seats, power windows, all of it.
Rest of the interior is surprisingly in great condition. Pass door panel has 1 or 2 cracks, but no rips and is very good condition. Drivers side not as good, but still pretty good. No rips on that one either. Back seats are excellent and the carpeting is good condition (since the floor mats have been in the car since new, essentially.)
Absolutely nothing mechanical needs replacing. Wouldn't hesitate taking this thing across the country. Just drove it from Phoenix a few months back as well as to Jemez.
Seriously, it drives great. Nothing is wrong with it mechanically. It's all in the cosmetics. Engine bay is so clean you can eat off of it, has dealership rear mat plastic cover, First aid kit, full size spare that hasn't touched the ground along with all the tools. It is my beater DD as of now.
Lets be honest, that rear quarter looks like a crock of crap, and missing all that paint doesn't help the "SC" look at all, that's the reason I'm selling it. I want somebody else with the funds to fix this SC up back to it's glory days. If I still have it by, say, February, what the hay I'll fix it.
Does not look like a mercedes, but sure drives like one, even better. Like every old SC, it has very minor noises and screeches, but they're so minor I don't need to mention them.
Please review the pictures. Miles vary as it's my DD.
PRICE IS $2150 <====Price is FIRM.
Call or text me at (505)-363-9072 or shoot me a PM.
Sun faded paint

2 or so bulbs out currently.
Climate LCD bleeding but still readable
Ripped drivers seat
Body damage
Passengers side ripped seat
Passengers side panel in great condition
I aactually swapped this shifter out for one that has a cracked shift button.
Falken tires have lots of tread
