update:
someone tried to pry the hood open. the resulting damage will be fixed in the spring. brand new SD headlights will also be installed. I am also offering the car "as-is" before the repairs for $6000

car hasn't gone to the shop yet for repairs to vandalism (haven't had time). i'll sell it as is (before the repairs) for $6000/obo. damage is minor, you'll get the car cheaper and can get the work done over time (insurance estimate is $2500. $2000 of that is for replacement headlights).

this is where I am on this car at the moment. I have an offer of $5800, as-is, semi-locally. the guy is supposed to come pick it up weds. My bottom line is $5300, shipping to be paid by the buyer.
Since Ive been asked, I pushed the repairs back till spring because theres no point in getting paint and body work done while there is still snow and road salt being put down.
