FS 1995 Lexus LS400 $3000
hey guys here is a 1995 Lexus LS400 for sale for cheap!
The car is a black/gray two tone with a tan interior, body is in good shape except for a dent on the trunk (might be able to dent repair it)
Car has ~220000 miles (typical 1UZ mileage)
Car has maint. records from the last 7 or so years and was used to commute long distances.
Recently replaced power steering rack and power steering pump (big expensive repair)
The car will need some TLC, the interior is pretty rough as can be seen from the pics
Car is located in Walnut, CA Southern CA
Price- $2750

I wouldn't say it's a common problem, 200k miles even 150k miles is plenty of miles for a PS pump or rack, depending on driving style
Figure $300- $1200 or so for the rack, $200-$500 for the pump, and then 6.5 hrs of labor
It's a big repair so lots of people avoid doing it. Doing the labor yourself and using aftermarket parts will keep you on the low end of those $

Thanks for the info carnal c30 ... interesting to note that it seems normal at 200k to replace...
I have 1 Honda 1 Acura= 490k miles combined- Original PS Rack/Pump on both.....original automatic tranny's on both as well....
I have a 2000 BMW 740iL, I know what its like to have a money pit ...
Im still getting an SC400 tho...

It all varies I guess, my 240sx has 280k miles on the PS rack and is still good but in general I start seeing issues above 150k miles on most cars
Unless its a domestic then I've seen bad PS pumps st 60k miles
