Is the car lowered? Or is that the OEM suspension?

Do you have the orginal wheels? I'm guessing the larger wheels throw off the accuracy of the speedeo.

Since this is close to the 90k mark that service and the timing belt, water pump, coolent, etc. will need to be done?

Why does everyone ask about the speedo thing? As far as I know it does not. I got a ticket a little while ago and I was clocked at exactly the speed I looked down and caught myself going. Plus I've never heard of getting bigger wheels throwing off the speedo....?

Water pump, spark plugs, coolants and timing belt done at ~60k and badges under the hood. Also checked and confirmed by my local mechanic prior to purchase.

changing the stock wheels to a different size wheel affects the speed of your vehicle, which is why it needs to be recalibrated when you do so, and again if you bring the car back to stock wheels. a bigger wheel takes less revolutions to cover the distance, a smaller wheel takes more, and either way affects your spedometer.

Only if the larger wheels have a larger tire...

if the larger wheels have a thinner (lower profile) tire, then overall revolutions remains the same...

google: plus sizing wheels

an easy one, for instance, is to go from 225/55-16 to 245/45-17

this is considered a "plus one" fitment - the new tire is wider, lower profile, yet retains an almost identical diameter so your speedometer is virtually unaffected...

now, same example, if you went from 225/55-16 to 225/55-17 then, yes, the new tires would be a 1" larger diameter... this is not the way to pick tires for a car though, and, for instance, in this case, I doubt that GS wheels/tires would fit on an IS - there is quite a difference in overall diameter even from the factory
