Default Looking for a car (WTB ISF)

Hi folks. WOW it's been a long time since I've posted on CL. Lot's of different cars since I've owned a Lexus but I'm seriously considering coming back. I've had an M6 convertible for the last 20 months and it's been a bit of a nightmare. I sort of think I got a lemon or something and I now have a love/hate relationship with the car. The quirky things that go wrong with it is a long story and I don't want to get into it right away but in any event, I need a new DD. I'm basically down to getting a G37S Convertible or an ISF and am leaning toward the ISF. So, my question is: Any of you guys selling? I'm hoping to grab an 08 or 09 and I'm pretty much in the 40-45k range for the 08 and 45-49 range for the 09. Hoping for either the USB or the Smoke Granite color with Black interior (I don't want the white. I like the white but have two kids and that would be a disaster)
Thanks! Oh and Ozticks, good to see you here.

Oh I should mention that I'm looking for a low mileage car. If it's over 20k it's a bit of a non starter. I put maybe 5k miles a year on my DD so mileage is important to me. (Nice to have work only 1 mile from home)

Very funny Viper. Distance isn't that big a deal. I can always get the thing shipped I suppose. I also spend a month on the east coast in the summer so I can have the car stored till then and use it when I come out then ship it back. Just drive the GT till then.
I'm not waiting around for a GS-F. I change DD's a lot and just want to pick this up because there are no cars I'm in love with right now for everyday use. I'd get the M3 but I'm not doing that to myself again (oh the M6, such an. . . interesting car). I'm not wedded to "names" either. I recently took the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track 3.6 out for a drive with serious intention of buying one (Man was it terrible, critics have lost their minds or something). Feel free to shoot me a PM with your specs and perhaps we can make a deal. Oh, and I used to be a hedge fund manager but now I'm semi retired (39 before you ask). Last Lexus I had was uh well wife had that awful RX400h (NEVER will I buy another hybrid) but I had the LS430 and SC430 (2nd in Bay Area!).
Viper, I just reread your post. Wait, were you serious? C'mon now. I can get a new 2010 one for 59k with Nav and Park Assist. At the very least I can grab an 09 brand new for 55-56. The idea here was to get a fun car that has some of the initial depreciation hit mitigated. That way I could get rid of it whenever I felt like it and not feel too guilty since it would only cost me whatever it depreciated. I appreciate the tint job and I bet it's a gorgeous car but that's just not in my wheel house right now.

Well the ISF is now a 2 year old car granted it's a 2008. Also some may have a considerable amount of mileage.

One more thing,,, You are looking at Manheim, You cannot tell if its a base F with no Navi and ML or a Loaded one with the Navi and ML,, Just look at the price difference between the first one and the last one, there is a $8000 difference for a car that only has 4000miles differences and they were basically sold on the same week.. I also noticed one thing too,, for the most part, these are all Lease returns except for the last one. And one last thing, when a car goes through Manheim, you really dont know what condition they are in, they can have scratches, body damages, missing interior or exterior items, or broken windshield, rims scratched up, bald tires? Maybe a previous wreck? There can be many many variations that determine the price of a car. Like I always say, A well kept and taken cared of F should not end up at an auction. Only reason that I can think of for a car like an F to be at an auction,,,, Repo or Lease Return where the dealer see the car was neglected and didnt want to put it on their used car lot, so they just decided to either wholesale it out or send it to the auction and let it sell for whatever price it goes for, treating it like trash... Sorry, Not My F....

Those auction prices are a good bargaining tool to some degree for us buyers. It's good to know that realistically I can get an ISF for low 40's now. I do agree that you cannot simply go by the auction prices since we don't know if they have Nav/ML but lets be realistic, doesn't 9 out of 10 ISF's come equipped with Nav/ML?

The one above that sold for $35,000 is actually on autotrader for $42,500 right now (check the carfax and mileage and it will comfirm they are the same car). I found two from private parties that I am really interested in and they both then in the low 40's (one for 40 exact and one for 41.5) and both car are in great shape and under 13k miles. Just waiting to pull the trigger sooner or later.
