$4200 - 1992 Lexus SC300 - 20" rims/DVD
The vehicle is a 1992 SC300, champagne exterior, tan leather interior, sunroof, ~161k miles. It has a custom built in-dash JVC DVD radio which has a USB connector in the glove box. There are 20" Chrome Helo rims with good rubber.
The vehicle runs very strong. Driver seat has normal wear (not awful), and the rest of the interior is excellent minus some loose stitching on the rear seat (~1 inch separation). Exterior is near flawless condition. This Lexus is a BEAUTY!!!
I recently had an inspection from McGrath Lexus, in which they stated that the engine and transmission were good, but I may need the valve cover gaskets replaced in the future. They had maintenance records for the first 120,000 miles. I did manage to replace the distributor o-ring as instructed by the dealership.
I had Firestone do an alignment because I noticed slight pulling to the right. After performing an alignment they stated the pulling was because I needed my brakes bled and that the front passenger side brake caliper was sticking. There is also a slight shake over 85 mph due to the brake caliper (brake caliper ~$60 at AutoZone).
The check engine light comes on periodically because the egr needs cleaning. There is an article in the Lexus forums on how to delete the egr system all together (costs under $10 to fix).
Overall the car is an excellent value for $4,200.00 US. Car starts up every time. I get compliments everywhere I go. The vehicle has most options that newer cars have like heated leather seats, motorized steering wheel and power seats.
The KBB.com value lists my car without the rims and radio at ~4,600.00 in good condition, and ~4,000.00 in fair condition. I assess this vehicle in good-excellent condition.
The rims on the vehicle cost ~$2,000.00 and the radio was near ~$1,000.00 installed.
I hope you are seriously looking for a good, reliable, and very affordable car and not wasting my time... This particular luxury sports coupe is known to get over 300,000 miles on the odometer. The issues I stated are minor and quick fixes. Check out clublexus.com for repair instructions!!!
This vehicle also has plenty of untapped potential since it shares the same motor as the Toyota Supra. Car is still pretty fast for it to be stock.
