CX 300h by end of 2012 ?
There hasn't been anything new since summer last year on rumors and artist renderings on the CX. Most make it appear like a jacked up CT, one looks closer to a smaller RX. Is this vehicle still part of the nine new Lexus models slated "before end of 2012"?
Roster so far we know:
'13 GS (full redesign)
'13 ES (full redesign, leaked photos spotted in China are out - looks great btw)
Does Lexus consider these refreshes as well, most of which pics are out:
'13 LX
'13 GX (?)
'13 RX
'13 LS
IS seemes to be slated for a '14 model year release. And not sure about the SC (LF-LC).
In which case, there still possibly leaves room for one, the CX 300h ?

Hate to see CT turn into another pumpkin a la RX style. Keep the nice body styling, bathe us with the Lexus world of luxury amenities, i.e. silence and opulence, but it got to surpass Prius in mpg and qualify for the Clean Vehicle Program of at least EPA 45 mpg.

It's not going to be called the CX !
The new Lexus compact SUV / CUV is not going to be called the CX.
The name for this new class of Lexus will be the NX
Still under development / testing, they will release two models late 2013 as a 2014 MY.
These two models are as follows:-
NX200t 2.0L Turbo
NX300h 2.5L Hybrid

The name for this new class of Lexus will be the NX
Still under development / testing, they will release two models late 2013 as a 2014 MY.

Big news today — Lexus has trademarked NX 200t & NX 300h in the USA, Canada, and Australia, giving the very first details about the much-rumored Lexus compact crossover.
Following the X SUV naming convention established with RX, GX, & LX, the NX trademark filing also offer some clue to what will be under the hood:
The NX 200t could be powered by the recently announced 2.0L turbo-charged four-cylinder engine.
The NX 300h will likely have the same 2.5L four-cylinder hybrid engine from the ES 300h.
If this NX does end up using the 2.0L turbo engine, this trademark also provides a potential timeline — according to the announcement last month, this engine won’t be put into production until 2014.
(There is one part of the name that I can’t figure out — what does the N stand for?)
