12v RMS vs. 14.4v RMS?
This may be a silly question but I am looking at buying a 5 channel amp to power my whole car and the specs read: 12V RMS Continuous Power 4ohm; Stereo (0.08% THD) 30Wx4 + 4ohm; 150Wx1 Stereo (0.3% THD) 2ohm; Stereo 40Wx4 + 4ohm; 150Wx1 •14.4V RMS Continuous Power 4ohm; Stereo (0.08% THD) 50Wx4 + 4ohm; 200Wx1 Stereo (0.3% THD) 2ohm; Stereo 60Wx4 + 4ohm; 200Wx1 Since my car has a 12v electrical system, does this not mean that I will be recieving the 12v power ratings? Why would they list 14.4v values?

Use the 12 volt numbers only. Use the 4 ohm NON BRIDGED numbers also. That'll give you a better reference point of what is really going on. 14.4 volt numbers are for marketing ... the higher the number the better the product looks on paper.
I'm guessing you're shopping for an Alpine amp?
