I press the Disc button on the factory radio, and it acts like it wants to work. After making a bunch of noise it displays "Error 3" on the LCD. If I try to eject a disc it says "Eject" for a split second and switches back to the FM radio. If I hit "Load" it displays "Disc Full" on the LCD.
How does one fix this? Is there a way? If I need to replace the unit, I am not opposed to doing so. I ran a search and couldn't find anything about getting the dash apart on the 02 ES, so does anyone have any insight on that?
well, my dumbass decided to try to take it apart. My recommendation is don't do it unless you build nanocomputers for a living. I shot one of the springs that holds the trays across the kitchen and then it was all downhill from there. I ended up breaking one of the trays at the bottom of the unit trying to figure out how to put it all back together so, I just am gonna say don't try it at home, or if you do, be ready to shell out the $150 for an ebay replacement (if you are lucky). I got a replacement off of Ebay for $145 shipped, with a warranty. If (when) that one fails, I will take it out and just go aftermarket.
