Default Backup camera mounts - please post here

I'm looking for ideas on how to mount my backup camera on a wingless sc300 and thought a general thread might be useful to the community. So, if you've mounted a backup camera, please post up your installation pics! I'm sure others will benefit from what you learned.

Thanks,
-scott

Ok... I went ahead and just mounted it above the license plate centered between the plate lights. Also had the camera painted.

Hey motorheaddown. I'm installing a new radio with a backup camera on my SC300. Where did you find or locate the reverse wire to trigger the backup camera?

Thanks!

Good question!... I cheated! :-P My sc300 was an automatic converted to a 6-speed. However, the harness for the LED shifter lights (P R N D L1 L2) wasleft in place on top of the tranny tunnel. So, I simply tapped power from the "R" wire to turn the camera on. Works like a champ! In my case, though, I had to ensure the reverse switch to the 6-speed completed the circuit for the back-up lights, but that might not apply to you if you're already an auto.

BTW, I do NOT recommend mounting the camera where I did (above the license plate). It's too low and doesn't provide a view high enough to make it useful. Unfortunately, I had no other options as my car is wingless.

Thanks,
-scott

Thanks Scott, There was a wire in the radio harness for the reverse (someone gave me a diagram). Also, for my B'day I bought a spoiler (great timing), so it will go there when it arrives
