Sound Improvements From Speaker Re-Foaming?
I currently have the Levinson sub from my 03 ES getting refoamed to fix the buzz caused by the foam deteriorating and disconnecting from the frame. Just curious if anyone has refoamed their speakers just because they were old and not due to having any audible defects that were as noticable as the buzz that the subs are known to develop when the foam fails? If so, any noticable improvement in the sound? Even though I'm not hearing any large defects in my other speakers, I was wondering if they might sound a bit better refoamed. I haven't examined them, but the foam must be about as fragile as it was on the sub.

I'd say that it would be quite unlikely to hear much of an appreciable difference in sound quality if the suspension is not currently deteriorated. Changing the compliance of the suspension components could have a marginal bearing on the sound, but it could be either positive, or negative.
