So, you have to park your car outside, near your work place, home or shopping. The key fob is in your pocket and you walk inside secure in knowing your car is locked and safe.
Thieves can use an amplifying device that can pick up your fob signal from a "good" distance, unlock, start your car and drive away. I'm not concerned that this is rampant or likely to happen. But if you're the type of person who wants to be certain. This "pouch" might be for you. Can also be used to store a spare fob inside the car as discussed in the CL link at the beginning of this post. It's advertised for cell phones but does work for key fobs as well. Just something to think about if your car keys are laying on a table near your front door and your car is in the driveway or curbside right outside your home. I've no financial interest in this product. Just thought I'd share.

I've not seen that feature on my cars, glad you pointed it out. Easy enough to do.
Would you verify this?
Turn on the battery saving feature, walk up to the car and try to open the locked door by using the handle touch feature. If it doesn't unlock the door a thief would likely move on.

Correct, completely deactivates the keyless entry - so car does not unlock or walk up lights do not function as car does not sense the fob at all, since it's off. To reactivate, you simply push any button on the fob and it reactivates immediately, returning to its normal function. Again, this is on my 14 IS.
