Default Question re: Nakamichi retrofit for 2000 SC400 and Dynaudio speakers

I recently acquired a 2000 SC4 with the Pioneer Premium audio system and would like to retrofit a Nakamichi system. I realize this is not a unique idea and that many have suggested that it makes more sense to get new speakers, adding a head unit, amplifiers, etc. However I'd really like to keep the car stock. I've searched the CL site and found out as much as I could about this including the year-to-year changes in the configuration and features of the Nakamichi and Pioneer systems from 1992-2000. Although many have been successful in doing the Naka retrofit for earlier years, the last generation of Nakamichi (1999-2000) has some unique features that make a swap more difficult such as the separate D/A converter, a digital Nakamichi system vs. the analog Pioneer system. So my question is: has anyone with a 1999 to 2000 SC done the conversion because I'd love to pick your brain.

On a related note, has anyone upgraded to the Dynaudio 242 2-way speaker system in the front of their SC's? How much depth is there for the midrange driver? Did you have to use the GT (cage-less) version? Did you modify the stock SC "pod"? Does the tweeter fit into the stock SC tweeter recess or did you have to do some cutting and customizing?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
