Default Burning 5.1 tracks to CD

Just purchased 2015 GS with ML system. I noticed that it will not play my Dolby Digital recordings (burned from DVD-A disc) while driving. If I burned them to a CD instead, would this get around the problem, or does the restriction have to do with the file type?

This is one of the options I'm testing from another thread. Just ripped the AC3 5.1 DD audio to 6 wav files and used my Dolby DTS Suite to combine them into a single DTS-encoded wav file. Results soon.
