I have the same issue with my iPhone 4S and 2005 RX330. I was told it's because the iPhone did not exist until the summer of 2007 and therefore, the technology to transfer the phone book from my iPhone was not incorporated into the 2005 model vehicle. Therefore, everything needs to be entered manually (unless somebody else has a good method to do otherwise). With your RX being a 2008 model and probably designed in 2007, it may not be compatible either. Good luck.

Only Lexus models that are Nav Gen 6 or newer allow bluetooth phone book transfer. So 2010+ Lexus's. The 2004-2006 system is pretty ancient, but 2007-2009 allows you to input addresses manually. There is a 'Transfer' button but it does not work unless you have some super old Sony Ericsson phone that was compatible with Lexus at the time.
