Default Need help on Jl Audio decision

So I want to add some subs and a amp with a custom enclosure in the trunk. I was thinking JL audio 2 12' w3's in a sealed box but the Sales man at the local Car Audio shop is steering me towards 10'w3's in a ported enclosure! I really want some deep bass with Subs that hit hard but am confused now. Any advice would be helpful.

Look into the W7's. I had one 8"W7 being pushed by a JL 500w amp and that little 8 was amazing. The W7's can handle A LOT more power and are really tight.

VERY wise of you to go with JL over the pre-fab Kicker box, seriously! Which subs did you decide to go with? 12w3s sealed or 10w3s ported? Sealed will typically give you tighter bass but ported can be tuned to play lower and requires less power to get loud. Let us know and be sure to post pics and a review.

From personal experience I have one 10" boxed in my Sienna and it's damn good. Fast, tight and clean response. Two would be even better but make sure to get the adjustment **** to go with the set up by your dash. Some days where you'll want the music loud and chill from the heavy bass and still listen to good music. Know what I mean? There are days to thump and then days to chill

If I could do it with two I'd also customize one to hit certain low frequencies and the other a "higher" bass frequency.
Just my two cents.

So I decided to go with the 12w3's .. They sound really great, push some good bass. I don't find the system to be loud enough though. My next step will be to work on some door speakers. The shop did a fantastic job on the install even adding a little custom flare with some Carbon Fiber on the enclosure and a Blue Lexus Logo where the arm rest comes down. Super clean install with the enclosure and amp. My favorite part of this enclosure is that it leaves a lot of trunk space. As we speak I'm on vacation with the wife and little one and we had no problem fitting two carry on suit cases and a bag in the trunk. I want to give a big thanks to SoundFx for a great install and to eddysoares for taking great care of me and my ride, see you soon for door speakers Eddy!!!

Default Bass destroying my car!!

So I guess the custom molding and paint are no match for the JL's !! After about 2 months of use I'm noticing cracks and a bible on the trunk!! Ha Ha.. Feel the Bass.. I'll bring it back to the shop for repair in the winter.
