Default Setting up subs in SC300

I had wanted to use my infinity basslink subwoofer in the trunk of my 95 SC300. I realize this could be a problem due to the placement of the gas tank, which isolates the trunk from the cabin. I was thinking that if I were to remove the stock free-air sub from the middle of the rear deck it would provide enough airflow to get some good bass into the cabin. The subwoofer is a 200 watt, 10 inch. I'd really appreciate anyones thoughts on possible placement of the speaker to get the maximum amount of low-end out of it, even if that means putting it somewhere other than the trunk.
